WE CARE CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED !!
After many months and many planning meetings our Online Campaign has launched.
Our slogan is “Discover the #PowerofCaring”, our hashtag is “#PowerofCaring”, website is https://aashouldcare.com, Facebook is https://www.facebook.com/AmericanAirlinesShouldCare, and of course Twitter is AAShouldCare.
This campaign is a way for us to get the message to American through their most valued asset, their passengers. Our message is simple – American is becoming an unsafe and uncaring Company, we want changes in our Contracts to make the public confident that when they choose American they get a quality product.
The Campaign is headed by TWU Strategic Action Coordinator, Brian Parker, and Cowtown Creative. Brian has been involved with this campaign from inception and was the organizer for the informational picketing we did a few years back. Local 505 proudly is involved, together with the other American Locals our collective voices will be heard. By using multiple social media platforms that message will reach thousands of passengers who will be encouraged to sign a petition that will get the word to Doug Parker.
The way American will maintain its status as the worlds best and largest airline starts with us. TWU Members want American to be a healthy Company with ability to grow and have us grow with them. Make no mistake the Company through their action at the negotiation table does not share the same plan for the future as we do. All of the “cash and prizes” they display on Jetnet are “fake”. As the saying goes the “devil is in the details”, and details are not being honestly shared on Jetnet.
American is not interested in having employees who have opportunity to grown with them. Sure, you will have a job, a bit more pay, a few more days of VC, and some form of health benefits – BUT – when you quit, die, or retire your spot will not be backfilled with a Union Member that works for AA. The plan American has is to have the ability to outsource or vendor out as many of our jobs as possible. The negotiation table has become a battle field, and we will not surrender.
This Campaign will inform the flying public of Americans dirty little secrets and show Doug and the shareholders that the TWU stands together to keep passengers safe and provide secure job opportunities moving into the future.
