  • MEDIATION MEETING UPDATE APRIL 4
    Posted On: Apr 04, 2019

Here’s the update from yesterday’s meeting in DC.  The meeting was at the NMB Office and was chaired by the Director of the NMB (not our assigned Mediators or a Board Member), we had Mike, Alex, Gary, Andre, Sito, Clema, Reagan; Company was Isom, Seymour, Philipovitch, Gless, Johnsen.

Again, disappointment - 2-hour meeting was cut short because the Company had to leave, they had a “dinner meeting”.  I guess having “dinner date” is more important to them than the 30,000 plus Membership getting a contract.  The Company’s idea is that we should be grateful for the pay increase promises and the job protection promises.  We know those are hollow promises.  The discussion on the IAM pension went nowhere because the Company said “we didn’t know how different it is from ours, and we will tell you later” - they have no knowledge of the components of the plan. Same old discussion on the Medical, Retiree Medical, and Scope; total disconnect.

This is a “math test” of sorts.  If we go with their proposals not only to do they make money on the job losses but also, they would make money on the $3K signing bonus.  It’s crazy.  And never mind the “buy out”, again there is nothing in writing regarding who gets it, when they get it, how many Members get it, and which stations get it and any other details.  Look for more info coming out soon from the Association with some of the numbers showing that the Jetnet info is really just bait.

Please “follow all the rules” every day on every flight, get on board with the AA Should Care campaign - spread it on social media, and speak directly to local Management about how badly their folks are behaving in negotiations – we want a Contract !

The plan is to go forward and meet again April 23-25 in FLL, I will be attending those sessions......wish I had more and better news.  Stay strong, stay safe, and stay unified.
