The latest Association Bulletin is attached here as well as correspondence from the FAA, please read both. The FAA stresses that “a breakdown in the relationship …(American and the Union)…raises concerns about the ongoing effectiveness of the airline’s safety management system”…..hummm………
While the FAA is not party to our ongoing litigation and is neutral regarding our negotiations, their concern regarding safety speaks volumes. “The FAA trusts that American and the Union will strive to ensure that any judicial order in the litigation does not constrain appropriate safety activities”.
As you all know (from reading the TRO); the Company contends that “Phrases such as “work safe”, “work by the book”, “adhere to strict contractual requirements”……are “recognized as coded signals (being sent to you by the Union [sic]) to engage in a slowdown”. Let’s see how American manages their safety system after this FAA correspondence.
